... and loves them! "If you have never eaten a pyclet before, expect spongy heaven. Think of it as a love-child of a sturdy crumpet and silken pancake, where opportune craters create wonderful pockets for gooey fillings (or melted butter if you are so inclined)." Ria came down to the parlour, just had to sit down and tried two of our posh pyclets. You can read her full review here

A new Chapter in Derby Pyclet Parlours history has started, After 6 long years in Derby's Gorgeous Victorian Market Hall, due to refurbishments, opening hours, and limited seating we have made a move two streets away to another listed building, The Post House. (The old post office opposite Debenhams)
This means we can open on Sundays and stay open till 9:30pm introducing new evening additions to our menus), everything is baked onsite in our unit, packets are all still the same price and our food prices are still low for the quality of fresh, local ingredients used to deliver mouth-watering classics like the Welsh Rarebit, our newest most popular addition the Philly Cheesesteak and Mrs B's Enchiladalets from our around the world specials. So for the price of a McDonalds, you can have something special. As eating should be, but rarely is.. In the 6 weeks that I've been here at the Pyclet Parlour the council and local arts groups have put on a number of different events including 150yr Markethall Celebrations, Derby Fest, the Folk Music Festival and farmers markets outside. It has been great for us with extra trade but we still see a number of empty units around and people constantly saying it's sad to see the Markethall quiet and not like it was in their day... I have to agree with them, I can remember spending hours in here as a child going from toy shop to craft shop, dolls house stalls, computer games and of course the sweets! Are you ready for the ramblings of the Pyclet Lady? Haha well this first post will mainly be ramblings but our blog will be here to inform you of our latest tasting events, menu introductions, local events, news and much more so stay tuned, follow us or add our RSS feed if you're technical! So here goes my first week in review.. I've absolutely LOVED it! Loved meeting the wierd and wonderful people of Derby. As most of you well know I'm a chatty girl, very active and like to eat a lot so what better place for me? The only thing that I dislike is not being able to play with the dogs that pass through the markethall with their owners. (The other love in my life!) Especially made hard by missing my three all day! |
